We are manufacturing the flat point set screws in the cutting work. Therefore, the flatness accuracy of the flat point set screws is less than 0.01mm. In addition, the squareness of the threaded portion and the flat portion is less than 0.01mm. And, the variations of the flat diameter is less than 0.02mm.
Generally, in a cam-type automatic lathe, the screw thread will be manufactured by a cutting die. When manufactured in a cutting die, the breaking of "the screw thread triangular top part" sometimes occurs. As it is, because we are manufacturing the screw thread by the byte chasing processing in the same way as a NC lathe, the breaking of "the screw thread triangular top part" does not occurs.
The material of the flat point set screws in this table are free-cutting steel (JIS SUM24L equivalent). Because the free-cutting steel is easy to be rusted, our standard stocks offers black or white zinc plating (trivalent). Other plating (electric nickel plating, electroless nickel plating, etc.) is possible as a special order product. We have the flat point set screws made of stainless steel in our standard.
Rotation of the flat point set screws is done in the slotted screwdriver. Rotation of the hexagon socket set screws is done in the hexagonal handle. In which case the rotation of the small set screws of less than M1.6, the flat point set screws is does not become useless holes than the hexagon socket set screws.
When you tie up a round shaft by the tip of the flat point set screws, it damage on outer diameter surface of the round shaft. For the purpose of not damaging the outer diameter surface of the round shaft, a portion of the round shaft has a flat portion. But, the position adjustment of the flat portion and set screw, require great care with the time of parts assembly. Insofar as the round shaft has a flat portion, when cone point set screw or cup point set screw is using, will be possible to tie up more firmly.
